Sonam adopts her fears
Sonam
Kapoor leads a good life by embracing her fears.
‘I
believe that the youth of India have the power to bring in a change. We like to
take on challenges and do not fear to go the extra mile. I am a person who
follows this maxim. I like to experiment and give my best to each and every
aspect of my life, be it work or personal life. And thus adventure sports give
me that sense of achievement whenever I can embrace my fears head on. Right
since my childhood days, I have been fascinated with the open skies and deep
seas. Thus during my recent film shoot at Queenstown in New Zealand, I was very
keen to skydive. With expert skydiving help at hand, I went ahead with the
ritual of suiting up, sitting in a plane which rose in the sky and gradually
gained altitude and then came the moment when I had to dive from 15,000 feet. It
was exciting as the sight of the surrounding clouds and mountain peaks from up
there was truly amazing. While I was a bit apprehensive in the beginning, I knew
I could do it. And the dive turned out to be was so worth it. I touched down
perfectly and the skydiving expert congratulated me on a good landing. I was
euphoric. That moment was fabulous and the dive made me understand that fears
only exist in the mind. Once faced, they clear off. In life too, I prefer to go
this way by facing hurdles and coming out a winner.’
