Jhummandi naadam Movie Review
The Movie: Jhummandi Nadam is supposed to be a musical romantic entertainer, but the presentation is not contemporary in spite of good song and dance sequences. The Synopsis Balu (Manoj) aspires to be a great singer and migrates to Hyderabad from his village. He is always at loggerheads with Captain Rao (Mohan Babu) who stays in the same street right opposite to his dwelling. Sravya, from abroad arrives in India and stays with Rao, she being his friend’s daughter. She wants to make a short film on Indian music. Balu and Sravya fall in love and Rao wants to destroy the singing career of Balu to thwart the love between him and Sravya. The rest of the story deals with how Balu succeeds in his career as well as love. The Performances: Manoj gives a spirited performance while Mohan Babu excels as the respectable villain. New comer Tapsi is photogenic and requires mastering the basics of acting. Brahmanandam, MS Narayana, Ali and Dharmavarapu tickle your funny bone. All others are OK in their roles. The Techniques: Though the story is routine commercial format, director Raghavender Rao peps it up with his now well known style of presentation which is sometimes very predictable. Music and choreography are appealing. Cinematography is good. The narration speed is slightly uneasy. The Final Judgement: Its worth watch as to see how the movie is. There is nothing special in the movie except music and Tapsi.
